  • Taum Sauk Section of the Ozark Trail

    This section of the Ozark Trail connects the Fredericktown District with the Potosi District traversing two state parks---Johnson Shut-ins and Taum Sauk Mountain---and the Devil's Tollgate and Bell Mountain Wilderness.

    Restrictions:

    Camp at least 100 feet from the trail, treat all water used, bury human waste and pack out all trash.


    Directions:

    From St. Louis, take Hwy. 21 south to Hwy. 32, then west to Hwy A and south to the northern trailhead;or stay on Hwy. 21 south to Hwy. N and go south to Johnson Shut-ins Park trailhead; or stay on Hwy. 21 further to Taum Sauk Mountain State Park trailhead south of Arcadia.
