  • Barn Hollow Float Camp

    Barn Hollow Float Camp is on the left bank of the Eleven Point National Scenic River at mile 27.0. This camp is located 10.4 miles downriver of Greer Crossing. It is near a loop of the Whites Creek Trail, but access is by river only. There are 4 campsites, 2 of which are group sites.Camping: The 4 campsites are available on a first-come basis. Each campsite has minimal facilities. There is a centrally located primitive pit toilet. Canoeing: Canoes may be launched anywhere upstream but the closest accesses are Turner Mill about 5 miles and McDowell Primitive Access about 2 miles above Barn Hollow. The nearest takeout point below this camp is Whitten Access, about 1.3 miles. A brochure is available.

    There are no fees.


    Restrictions:

    No trash service is provided so all trash must be packed out. No bottles or glass containers are allowed on the river or at camps.


    Directions:

    Directions From Riverton, MO, take Hwy 160 east to Hwy J; left on J to Forest Road 3152; left to Forest Road 3190; left to Turner Mill North Access (about 5 miles upriver from Barn Hollow Float Camp as access to the camp is only by river). From Alton, MO, take Hwy 19 north to Hwy AA, east on AA to County 127 to Turner Mill South (also about 5 miles upriver from Barn Hollow Float Camp).
